T.E.A.M.

team-cover-borderIf there was ever a Bible verse that speaks to the idea of teamwork, it would be this one.   Ephesians 4:11-16 says, “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

God understands teamwork.  Yes he does!  Do you think everyone understands what it fully means to work as a team?  We are all meant to understand and follow the plan.  According to this verse He set the church up to work as a team!  It is His plan.  Shouldn’t we follow it?

Even Jesus himself chose twelve men to prepare and train as a team to carry on the work of building the church.

Over the years of my ministry, I have read many books and listened to many recordings that had to do with leadership and church growth.  I give credit to many of those authors in the beginning of this book.  Along the way, Ephesians 4:11-12 became my ministry and my passion – but it is all about “preparing God’s people!”

43725_matthew_1926It’s all about building a team and helping them understand the meaning of, and the advantage of teamwork.  “Nothing is impossible ‘with’ God.”

Whether you are a pastor, a teacher, lay leader or a growing disciple, it is my prayer that you will work together “with God” as a TEAM for the glory of the Kingdom of God.  This book will walk you through the process of becoming a T.E.A.M. by Teaching, Equipping And Motivating the church.  Remember, too, that the church is not just the people in your church building – its the people in your community as well.  Maybe you’ll find someone in your church that you would like to pick up a copy to share as well.
